How 2 Help |

Once people start learning about what we do at our Eye-Camps, many of them
are moved enough to want to get involved in some way. However what we
achieve, depends on the funds we manage to raise. As Muslims, helping
the poor and needy means our responsibility and we all must bear the burden,
by striving to fulfill one of the basic tenets of Islam: Giving
to the poor. Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.) has said, 'Wealth
is not diminished by charity'. So don´t turn your back,
help in whatever way you can:
Small gestures can make a world of difference to another person !
When shopping, there are normally a couple of Kroners change. Put these into one of our collection tins normally
found at the till point instead of weighing down your pockets. Individually it can't buy anything but if everyone did it,
the charities would be able to help a lot of people.

Donate your old glasses and sunglasses
Knowing glasses are destined to help others see, our latest program involves collection of old pair of glasses. Once
collected, your old glasses and sunglasses will be cleaned and repaired before being classified according to
prescription. After refurbishment, the glasses are ready to be handed to the needy people.
You may not be using glasses yourself, but you probably know a friend, relative or colleague who might have a pair of
old glasses lying around. Encourage as many people as possible to donate old glasses and sunglasses.
You could set up a collection program at your childs and other schools, mosques, the workplace etc. - in short, places
where people gather. Spread the word - E-mail and tell everyone you
know about what we do here at Patient Welfare Society and our Eye-Camps.

Organize a fundraising event
- 1. Arrange street collections and raffles
- 2. Involve your colleagues/staff in selling raffle tickets etc.
- 3. Arrange a sports tournmaent
- 4. Collect old/broken appliances, furniture, toys etc. and repair these
- 5. Place your next order with a supplier who will help you repair your broken/outdated computer equipment, which you then can
donate or sell.
- 6. Place collection boxes in each department, into which your colleagues/staff could put their small change from lunch. At the end of
each month, everyone in the department that collects the most money gets an extra hour for lunch and at the end of the year the
overall winners get a day off.
If you have any other ideas, please send them to us and we will add them to this list.
